At Berkys Day Care, being family-owned means being family-focused. Our in-home child care programs provide a warm, nurturing, and welcoming environment where children can feel comfortable, confident, and at home while they learn and grow. 

With involved ownership and dedicated on-site leadership, we take pride in building meaningful relationships with every child and family we serve. Our experienced and caring early childhood educators provide attentive, individualized care for children ages 1 through 5. Through age-appropriate learning activities, creative play, social interaction, and hands-on experiences, we provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment designed to support each child’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development. Most importantly, we want every child who walks through our doors to feel safe, loved, valued, and part of the Berkys family.

Berkys Day Care proudly serves families at three New York locations: Deer Park, Islip Terrace, and Valley Stream.

At Berkys Day Care, we believe every child is unique and deserves to feel loved, valued, and confident in who they are.

Our purpose is to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, build friendships, and discover their individual strengths and interests. Through meaningful play, hands-on learning, teamwork, and age-appropriate challenges, we encourage children to develop confidence, independence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
We believe some of life’s most important lessons begin in early childhood. By teaching children to work together, respect one another, express themselves, and approach challenges with confidence, we are building a strong foundation for their future.

Above all, every child at Berkys Day Care is seen, supported, respected, and celebrated. Our goal is to help each child grow into a kind, capable, confident individual who is excited to learn and ready to thrive.

Berkys Nazario

Owner and Founder Since 2015

I am the Lead Teacher at Berkys Day Care, bringing over 40 years of experience working with and educating young children. Teaching has always been my passion, and I believe that early childhood education has the power to shape not only a child’s future, but also our families and communities. The early years are among the most important stages of a child’s development. At Berkys Day Care, we recognize that every experience, interaction, and opportunity to learn helps build the foundation for a child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. I truly believe there is no greater responsibility than the work we do with young children and their families. What we teach today helps shape who they become tomorrow.

Stephanie Duran

Curriculum Advisor

Stephanie Duran is the Owner and Director of Berkys Early Development, located in Valley Stream, New York. She also serves as the Curriculum Advisor for Berkys Day Care programs, helping to guide and strengthen the educational experiences provided across our schools. Stephanie is an experienced early childhood educator with over 25 years of experience working with young children and a strong educational background in childhood development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College. Dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education, Stephanie continues to stay informed about the latest research, teaching methods, and developments in the field. Her goal is to ensure that every child at Berkys receives a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate educational experience that supports their growth and prepares them for future success.

We believe that raising a child takes a family and our school is your family. Parents have the opportunity to participate in the classroom, on the playground and in influencing the development of our school. We offer parent education in the classroom, through newsletter and written material. We understand that each family’s situation is unique, and our goal is to offer classes that meet the specific needs of our families.

Berkys Day Care is a fun, friendly, nurturing, and safe place where children can learn, play, explore, and grow. Our caring and experienced staff is dedicated to providing quality care while recognizing and supporting each child’s individual needs.

Through creative activities, hands-on learning, physical exercise, structured lessons, and purposeful play, we provide a stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to learn, build confidence, and succeed.

Our children also develop important social and emotional skills as they explore topics such as sharing, friendship, kindness, conflict resolution, safety, respect, and diversity.

These energetic little ones are growing and learning, so we channel their energy into positive learning moments by giving them ample room to move and explore. Here, toddlers receive encouragement and guidance toward the growth of their physical skills and emerging milestones: Stimulating classroom environments, exclusive milestone-based curriculum, immersive learning experiences and educational toys and activities.

PRESCHOOL & PRE-K (1 - 4 Years Old)

The Preschool and Pre-K Program offers a wide variety of experiences. Through weekly themes, the children learn new concepts, allowing them to expand their play and to share individual interest and ideas. This warm, nurturing classroom environment encourages collaboration and individual growth. In a playful space, filled with fun and friendship, children get a jumpstart on the essential readiness skills to begin their academic career in kindergarten: Problem solving, implementing language in learning and collaborative social skills.

SCHOOL AGED (5 - 8 Years Old)

SCHOOL AGED (5 - 8 Years Old)

In the morning, we set your child up for success during the school day by offering a consistent morning routine with opportunities for calming activities, free play, and a whole group activity designed to encourage students to set a goal for their day ahead. After serving breakfast, we then get them ready for school and put them on the school bus.

 Berky's Daycare is AMAZING. I know my boys are being well taken care of and learning everyday. My son wakes up every morning and looks forward to going to Berky's. Very organized and presentable. Wish I found this daycare are sooner! I recommend this daycare to those parents who want the best care for their little one.

 Trusted my daughter with Mrs Berkys and her staff for 2 years. Her program enriches children both academically and emotionally. She teaches the children about a variety of topics age appropriately and even teaches Spanish! When my daughter started kindergarten I realized alot of the material had already been introduced through her attendance at Mrs Berkys. Mrs Berkys is always ensuring the children have new experiences. She goes out of her way to ensure there are new supplies, toys and activities to keep children engaged. Mrs Berkys and her staff were always kind and fair, good social skills such as being caring, respectful, kind and thoughtful were always stressed throughout my daughters care. Most of all Mrs Berkys and all of her staff are kind hearted, caring people who truly care about your child. I knew that my daughter was always in good hands!

 My daughter spend 3 years at Berkys day care. Before putting her in there I looked at many others. My heart did not settle. Once I met berkys I knew my daughter would be safe and I felt home when I walked in. My daughter warmed up to them right away. Never was a time where I had to worry about her. Of course I always watched the camera's anyways for the first year.... lol Berkys Daycare left an impact on my daughter forever. She's learned so much from them in many department. Still to this day my daughter talks about them and always ask to go visit them. Especially MR Nelson ..lol. They gave my daughter a second home and a second family for life. I write this review because I'm a mother and I know the feeling of looking for great education and safe place for our children. Berkys day care has it all!!!'

 I have been so lucky since I found Berkys Daycare They've been taken care of my daughter since she is three years old My daughter Loves to go there every single day ,now she's in kindergarten and she still goes to the afterschool program . We as a parents worry about who is going to take to take care or where they are going to be if they're going to be in a safe place, I always say your first answer is from my child like I said my daughter loves to go Berkys Day Care All the time . I would definitely recommend Berkys daycare I give them my 5stars. Thank you so much Berkys Day Care you have done a great job.
